Quote of the Week

“Your mind knows only some things. Your inner voice, your instinct, knows everything. If you listen to what you know instinctively, it will always lead you down the right path.”

-Henry Winkler (Actor & Author) 🌼

This Week's "Subconscious Success" Tip

Today I want to share with you with one of my personal favorite ways to communicate with my subconscious mind.

I use it for pretty much anything that I'd like a "yes" or "no" confirmation on. I've used for so many things - from choosing something on a food menu to making a hiring decision.

So what's this neat communication tool? A pendulum!

You can buy one at any crystal/metaphysical shop if you want a fancy one like the one pictured below. They're usually affordable and you can pick a crystal that speaks to you.

Alternatively, you can use a pendant necklace or tie something heavy-ish to string like a ring or key.

How to apply this tip

I won't get into extensive details here on how to use a pendulum. My main goal is to introduce you to them! I recommend looking up videos on YouTube and also detailed blogs that others have written on the subject.

In summary, here's what to do:

1. Buy or make a pendulum.

2. Once you have it, if it's a crystal one, I recommend cleansing it before first use and occasionally thereafter. Easy ways are burning sage, playing singing bowls, or placing it outside on the earth for a day or two. You can also just do it by intention. (Google other ways...this is a popular topic, and I'm not a crystals expert 😆).

3. Hold the string with one hand using your thumb, index, and middle fingers. Put your other hand a couple inches underneath the crystal or object.

4. Take a deep breath. Imagine yourself grounding into the earth.

5. If it's your first time, find out what "yes" and "no" is for you. Make a statement that you already know the answer to. Like "My name is [your name]". Watch which way the pendulum swings or swirls. For me it swings front and back for "yes". Then ask the same for a "no" response. Like "My name is [someone else's name]". Watch what happens. For me, it moves left and right for "no".

You can then test it with more statements to confirm the directions. I prefer to use statements rather than asking questions, but do whatever works best for you.

If nothing happens, relax and take a few moments to be patient with it while repeating the statement silently or out loud. If it's still not working, I'd recommend doing a short meditation before trying again to ground and clear the mind.

5. After you know your directions, say a statement that you'd like to confirm with a "yes" or "no".

Here are some things I've confirmed in the past:

  • Any option - "[This option] is for my highest best"

  • What to order at a restaurant - "It would be best for me to order [x meal]"

  • Foods/ingredients/things I'm allergic to

  • If it's for my highest best to hire someone - "It's for my highest best to hire Tim Smith to help me with marketing my business."

  • If it's the best timing for something - "June 1st - 5th, 2024 is the best time for me to go to Peru"

  • Where to visit for vacation

  • Vibe check on people - "[this person] is for my highest best to be around" or "It's safe for me to trust [this person]"

  • What to wear

  • If I'm getting sick or not and what supplements would help

  • So many more things!

Why this works (the short version):

The pendulum acts as a bridge between your conscious and subconscious mind. When you ask a question, your subconscious processes it instantly, causing subtle muscle movements in your hand. These micro-movements influence the pendulum's swing, giving you a visual representation of your inner knowing.

It's similar to how our bodies can react to thoughts before we're consciously aware of them (like tensing up when thinking of something stressful). The pendulum simply makes these subtle reactions visible.

Remember, the pendulum isn't magic – it's a tool to access your own inner wisdom and intuition that you might not be consciously aware of.

Ready to try it?

This week, buy or create your own pendulum and practice confirming some simple yes/no statements. Start with things you already know the answer to, like "My name is ___" or "I live in ____?" This helps build trust in the process.

Then, move on to statements you're genuinely curious about. You might be surprised at what insights emerge!

If you end up trying it out, let me know. I'd love to hear about your experience. Anytime I take a friend to a crystal shop, I like to show them this if they're new to it, and it's always fun to watch their reaction.
