This Week's "Subconscious Success" Tip

It's the time of the Equinox! If you're in the northern hemisphere of the world, days are officially getting shorter. The autumn season is upon us, and soon will come winter.

It's a wonderful time to slow down and reflect on what "harvest" we'd like to celebrate from this year, and also, what we'd like to let go of or change, so we can come more into balance.

So today, I encourage you to reflect on your celebrations and re-balancing needs by spending 10-15 minutes or so going within and conversing with your subconscious mind.

How to Apply This Tip

Read these simple instructions before starting this exercise. Carve out at least 15 minutes of quiet time where you won't be disturbed or rushed.

Step 1 - Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths.

Breathing in deeply through your nose and breathing out twice as long. Take as many of these as needed to feel settled.

Step 2 - Say on the inside "subconscious mind - show me 3 things to celebrate or be grateful for from this year". 🎉

Keep gently breathing and notice any internal images, sounds, or feelings.

If you have more time, spend a few moments basking in what it feels like to acknowledge these things. Maybe say a word of encouragement to yourself.

Step 3 - Say on the inside "subconscious mind - show me where I could use more balance in my life". ☯

Notice what response you get back in form of images, sounds, or feelings.

If the inner critic begins to pipe up, you can gently acknowledge it with a simple "thank you for being there because I know you have a deeper, positive intention".

Step 4 - Open your eyes and take a few notes in your journal. 📔

For the items from step 3, what is one baby step you could commit to towards balance in these areas?

If it has to do with internal thoughts or feelings, perhaps a deeper dive is in order? I'm always happy to have a free chat to see if gentle subconscious change work is a good fit.


Why It Works (The Short Version)

Since the subconscious mind always tells "our truth" (i.e. what we learned to truly believe), taking a few moments to relax and turn inward is a great way to be honest with ourselves.

Taking a moment to close our eyes and take some deep breaths relaxes us and allow our brain to go from "beta" brainwave to "alpha", which opens up the door to the subconscious mind (this is why in hypnosis we first get into a relaxed state).

Remember - the first answer you receive, especially if it's quiet or doesn't make a lot of logical sense is likely the subconscious communication.

Also, it may be in form of a visual metaphor or a feeling since our subconscious mind communicates through the senses and not necessarily an inner voice that speaks in English.

Ready To Try It?

Carve out 15 minutes to relax and turn inward, and ask your subconscious mind what you'd like to celebrate/acknowledge and also what needs to come into balance! Journal your findings and if you're able to, spend more time in contemplation. Happy Equinox!
