Quote of the Week

"Even though I'm feeling afraid, I still deeply and completely love and accept myself."

- Words from an Emotional Freedom Technique ("EFT") Script 🌼

This Week's "Subconscious Success" Tip

Do you ever experience any of the following?

  • An unsupportive thought(s) that keep looping over and over in your mind

  • A craving or desire to engage in a habit that you know doesn't support you in your goals

  • An emotion or feeling that drags you down and takes you into an unsupportive state

Acknowledge it and tap it out by using the Emotional Freedom Technique (aka "EFT" for short)!

How to apply this tip

1. Start by choosing a thought, craving/desire, or feeling that you'd like to shift.

2. Rate the intensity of it on a scale of 0-10 (0 being you don't sense it at all and 10 being it's very intense)

3. With your dominant hand, start tapping the side of your other hand (under your pinkie). Use the image below for the tapping points:

eft tapping points

I like to use my pointer, middle, and ring fingers to tap 7-10 times on the point.

Breathe while you're doing this.

While you're tapping and breathing, say: "Even though I have this [thought/craving/feeling], I still deeply and completely love and accept myself, and I choose to let this go now."

So for example: "even though I'm feeling anxious about money right now, I still deeply and completely love and accept myself, and I choose to let this go."

4. Continue to tap the rest of the points per the image above while saying different variations of the phrase above. Tap 7-10 times on each point. (I personally don't count, I just go with my intuition).

For example:

"I let this anxiety about money go now."

"Any remaining anxiety about money is releasing now."

"Even though I'm feeling anxious about money, I still love and accept myself, and I'm letting that go now."

.

Keep going until the intensity level is 0 (or wherever you want it to be). Re-assess the intensity level after each round of tapping.

.

5. Bonus (optional): Tap in supportive statements. While tapping on the various points, you can say things like (following example above with money, but it could be any topic):

• I trust that I am always guided and supported with my finances.

• Money comes to me easily.

• I feel at peace with my finances.

**

Simplified version:

Pick two points to tap - like point #5 under your nose and #6 on your chin and say the phrases. You do not need to tap all the points for this to be effective.

**

Want to see a demo of this? Search "EFT" on YouTube, and you'll find a ton of examples. Everyone does it a little bit differently.

Why this works (the short version):

By doing EFT, you're stimulating acupressure points, moving and supporting energy flow in the body, and helping yourself process thoughts and emotions.

You're also interrupting a pattern, which opens up the opportunity for change in the brain. EFT can support you to kick old unsupportive habits and start new ones!

There have been many scientific studies that have shown EFT to be effective for a variety of psychological and physical symptoms.

Ready to try it?

Next time you notice an un-supportive looping thought, craving, or feeling come up, take a moment to pause and take a deep breath.

Notice the intensity at which you sense this. And if you have a moment, tap it out by using one the processes above.
