"The human capacity for burden is like bamboo – far more flexible than you'd ever believe at first glance."

This Week's "Subconscious Success" Tip

When unexpected life chaos happens, what do you do?

We almost lost our beloved, 8 year old pup Pixel last Sunday. An initial exam that suspected a common musculoskeletal issue very quickly turned into emergency surgery to stop internal bleeding and get her spleen and part of her liver removed. She's at home recovering swiftly now...and...her biopsy labs come in next week so there will be more pivotal news. Fingers crossed it's all benign.

This week I thought I'd keep this e-mail simple and share some tips from my subconscious work practices that helped me cultivate wellbeing in the past week:

~

1) When you experience something traumatic or intense, remember to limit talking about it in detail for 24-48 hours, if possible. Studies have shown that during this time period, the brain is integrating what happened, and talking about it in detail can increase chances of it not being processed.

If you do need to talk about it, try the Havening technique while you talk. Cross your arms, put opposite hand on each shoulder and gently rub down to your elbows like you're consoling yourself.

~

2) Remember to intentionally breathe deeply. Try the "Physiological Sigh" or just breathe in deeply and breathe out twice as long. Practice for several minutes. This stimulates the Vagus nerve and calms your nervous system.

~

3) On Sunday/Monday I felt a lot of pressure in my chest and throat and mixed emotions. EFT Tapping with each of those sensations really helped lessen the severity of this so I could breathe and focus on something else. Tapping even on one point can help...I like the one under the collar bone.

~

4) If you notice your mind creating future doomsday scenarios that have yet to happen, remember to gently remind yourself that this hasn't happened yet, and multiple possibilities are on the table.

If you can, do your best to visualize/mentally rehearse the next best step that you want to happen.

For example, my husband and I were practicing getting a call from the vet and hearing them say "The surgery was successful. She did great and is in recovery now!". It was beautiful to actually receive this call.

~

5) If you're in limbo (like we are right now), remember to cherish each moment.

When you really think about it, we're never guaranteed more time with our loved ones...there are only statistical predictions of how much time we have.

So...say the things you want to say...do what you've been putting off...and enjoy quality time staying in the now.

Perhaps you can even take intentional time to mentally rehearse the desired near future. We are currently envisioning Pixel being bouncy and playing fetch with a big smile on her face.

I don't know how much more time we have with her, but I'll tell ya, I'd much rather be focusing on enjoying my time with her than going down "what if" doom spirals in my head.

5) If you experience a loss, be gentle with yourself while you process the initial, natural reactions. Take your time.

Please also keep in mind that grief doesn't always have to be a long, painful process. It's possible to experience it differently when you're able to shift your perception filters and process what happened at deeper levels of consciousness (Note: I know this isn't the case 100% of the time...just planting a seed of possibility in your mind that differs from mass societal belief).

One way to begin processing grief (and this can even be used to pre-grieve before the loss) is through the Grief Protocol created by Steve & Connirae Andreas. This process will allow you to get a renewed sense of connection with the one (or what) you lost and keep what you truly valued at the forefront.

Another way is to explore it through Core Transformation by working with the various reactions you have (contact me for a session or visit this website for resources).

For example, you might have feelings of sadness, guilt, anger/frustration, regret, or emptiness. You might be finding yourself returning to unhealthy habits like comfort eating and drinking.

In my experience, using protocols to help process grief just helps us be more resourceful and be present with our loved ones who are still here in the physical.

It's not about forgetting what happened or bypassing...it's about having a resourceful perspective on life so you can keep going and enjoying the temporary time you have left here too. And that, is a gift not just to yourself, but to the rest of the world too. ♥

Viktor Frankl, a Holocaust survivor, came to my mind multiple times in the last week too. He lived through hell when he was imprisoned at at multiple concentration camps, and yet, through his perspectives was able to help a lot of people survive, including himself.

I know a lot of you who are reading this have impact as a high value, so remember that you have a lot more power to shift your perspective than you think. Doing this with logic can be really hard, so these tools I mentioned can greatly help because they work directly with your subconscious.

P.P.S. Here's a pic of Pixel from this weekend that cracked me up....she was trying to grab treats out of my hand.
